About

At MakeBigParts, we envision a world where anyone can instantly create any part effortlessly. Our mission is to deliver large 3D printed parts fast.

MakeBigParts was founded by Chris Haid in 2024. Chris spent the previous decade working in 3D printing: he developed automated, accessible 3D printers; brought large-format 3D printers to new markets; and brought industrial scale laser-based 3D printing processes to more desktops with Formlabs. After 10 years, he found that large format 3D printing continues to be difficult to access in 2024 due to requirements for 3D printing expertise, equipment, safety, and business practicality. Chris founded MakeBigParts to continue his work making 3D printing more accessible: this time for 3D printing full-scale, detailed parts that don’t trade off size for resolution while still being affordable.

Join us and experience the future of 3D printing. We look forward to working with you!

Chris has over a decade of experience in 3D printing. His 3D printing career began at MIT where he co-founded New Valence Robotics Corporation (NVBOTS), manufacturing automated 3D printers for education. In 2017, he took on the role of General Manager at Cincinnati Incorporated (CI) following its acquisition of NVBOTS. At CI, Chris developed a high temperature and metal 3D printer while gaining experience was industrial large-format 3D printing. In 2021, Chris pivoted to Formlabs as a Product Manager, working on large format SLA post-processing devices for the Form 3L in addition to launching the Fuse 1+ 30W. In 2024, Chris founded MakeBigParts to make large-format 3D printing more accessible.
